The Guide, a publication

A regular publication (once or twice a month) which lists and describes cooperative, radical, and other sorts of fun events happening in the bay area.

Events that are listed should be:

• cooperatively or radically minded
• free, or very low cost on sliding pay scale
• devoid of sexism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, or jingoism

Four ways to be listed:

1. add your events to the Barrington Collective Events list 2. send them to mailto:theguide@barringtoncollective.org 3. call 510-848-5642 4. Be visible in the community and we will find you. (note: This is a very unreliable way to be listed)

The idea:

To take the [Events] calendar (but greatly expanded) and put it in paper form that can be distributed widely (local music shops, cafes, community centers, etc.), promoting all kinds of events, helping make stronger bonds between various disparate collectives and community organizations in the area. I think this could be a very useful way to do outreach, and one which could help further break us out of the UC/USCA student paradigm.
