DIY MINUTES

- why? because mlk park will cost us about $300 for all the permits, plus we won't have insurance, so if anything were to happen, jonathan and anthony would be held legally responsible. - possible alternatives? people's park, humanist hall, cz. we decided to pursue people's park as the number one option. anthony to explore money needs, permit info, etc. - jonathan to see if he can get a refund on the deposit he put down. - UPDATE ON PEOPLE'S PARK:
1. they like what we're doing
2. there are NO MONEY FEES
3. we have to fill out an application (will do tonight)
4. unfortunately, we cannot use amplified sound. the wait list for amplified sound is three months long.

- we need tables. if anyone has hookups, let us know. - kiran needs the contact info for all the people coming who are going to be facilitating workshops so she can make a workshop schedule. - kiran needs all contact info in general in order to make a contact/hook

up sheet/flyer for people to take home with them. same info also needed for the disorientation. please send info to: akiran at uclink.berkeley.edu

- we will have a bake sale this upcoming tuesday (the 2nd) to raise money - BAKING PARTY to be held 10:30pm Monday, September 1st in Chateau kitchen. this will also be the next DIY MEETING - people needed to help sell baked goods on campus tuesday

- we decided to make it home made zine style, due to time constraints and cost issues (full size newsprint has a minimum print number and costs about $3000)

- get info about usca scoop grant from jolynn (anthony) - call yogi about berkeley mic connection (jonathan) - register as disorientation group with office of student life (kiran) - go co-op begging (anthony)
