Hey everyone, So here's what was discussed. If you dont' want to read all this, scroll to the bottem on how you can help.
NASCO Report Back will tenetavily be held on the Tues or Wed of next week at Kingman. Alexis is looking into this.
DIY FESTIVAL is going on from 1-5 at CZ on Dec. 8th. Here's a tast of the mad stuff that will be offered:
- Panelist of DIY artists such as Ally Starr (from Art and Revolution and
Dancers without Borders) and Machael Franti. If anyone has any ideas of other possible DIY artists who'd like to speak (especially artists of color, etc.), let Stevie know.
- Bands. Readyville is confirmed at coming, and Two Galants and/or
Flushies may also be there.
- Movies. We will be showing DIY or Die and also have Instrument playing
in the background during the festival.
- FOOD NOT BOMBS is provding some yummy home cooking.
- Slam Poets. We'll possible have Molotov Mouths and some Berkeley
kids.
- Workshops include bicycle repair, puppetry, and so many more that I
couldn't write them all down.
- Tables include DIY feminine hygiene products, DIY music recordings,
etc. Also, we're going to have a Barrington Collective table there, which means we need stickers and people to be at the table. Which leads very nicely into:
WHAT WE NEED FOR THE DIY FESTIVAL
- Volunteers to come to CZ before 1pm to do clean up/set up. Clean up
witll start at 9am (yay). Also need volutneers throughout the day, and Food not Bombs is looking for a few good cooks.
- Publicity. We're not going to flyer, but word of mouth is a great way to get
like-minded individuals to participate in this mind-blowing event.
- More Tables / artists, ect. If you know anyone who would have something
to contribute to this festival, be they poet, artist, or would have a good table, let the collective know.
I think that's all. And amazingly, this all happened in 45 min. I am so very proud. Have a good Tofurkey Day! -Chris
PS if anyone's going to be around on Sunday, the Gilman's going to have a swap meet flea market thing.
