Text
- Why is the cost of learning so high?
- The Barrington Collective is starting a Free School!
- What is a Free School?
- The classes are free.
- The education is guided by the students, the teachers and the community.
- Anyone can be a student; anyone can be a teacher.
- People learn what they want; people teach what they want.
- It works and there are many types of Free Schools. One example is the Free School is Albany, New York that has been running successfully for last 36 years.
- Another way is possible...
- Quote
- "Rulers have always taken care to control the education of the people, they know better than anyone else that their power is based almost entirely on the school, and they therefore insist on retaining their monopoly on it." - Francisco Ferrer
- We want...
- We want to know what you think about the Free School.
- We want to know what you want to learn. Kids, you too!
- We're looking for new teachers and students.
- We're looking for people who want to help us.
